LCTA is partnering with the City of Wilkes-Barre and America250PA for the Commonwealth Concert Series on June 20th.

LCTA will provide transportation from four parking lots along its bus routes – Luzerne County Community College (LCCC), Mohegan Pennsylvania Casino, Misericordia University, and King’s College Betzler Field – from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. running approximately every 15 minutes.

ADA paratransit service from these satellite lots and the parking garage at the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transit Center will also be available.

Transportation back to the parking lots will start after the show until midnight.

Due to the thousands of visitors expected in and around the city, LCTA fixed route bus service and LCTA CONNECTS service will be suspended at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Final departures of fixed route buses are listed below.

With the closure of Market Street in Kingston at 8 a.m. Saturday, LCTA routes 6, 7, 11, 12, and 24 will be diverted to Pierce Street until 1 p.m.

LCTA Shared Ride service to medical appointments will continue throughout the day.

The city of Wilkes-Barre is offering parking at:
     – LCCC, Lots C and D, with pick-up at the regular LCTA bus stop at LCCC.
     – Mohegan Pennsylvania Casino, Lot D; the bus stop, which will be marked, is down the steps at the bus stalls near the Hotel Entrance (not the normal LCTA bus stop for fixed route service).
     – Misericordia University, North Lot and Mercy Lot, utilizing the regular LCTA bus stop at Misericordia.
     – Betzler Fields at King’s College, 101-221 Highland Park Blvd.; the bus stop will be marked with signage.  

Saturday Fixed Route Service Ends at 1 p.m.

Final departures of fixed route buses will be the outbound trips scheduled closest to 1 p.m. from the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transit Center.

Prohibited Items

As per the America250PA event, the following items are prohibited at the PA Commonwealth Concert Series NEPA event and will NOT be allowed on LCTA vehicles:

  • Alcohol
  • Audio or video recording equipment
  • Air horns
  • Backpacks
  • Banners
  • Bicycles or scooters
  • Camelbaks
  • Camping overnight
  • Chains or chain wallets
  • Cameras larger than point-and-shoot cameras. If you can remove the lens, do not bring it.
  • Coolers
  • Costumes that resemble public safety uniforms, including police, SWAT, fire, security, or medical uniforms
  • Dangerous or offensive items
  • Disruptive activities
  • Divisive symbols
  • Drones
  • Fireworks
  • Flags
  • Flyers
  • Frisbees
  • Glass or metal containers
  • Illegal drugs or paraphernalia
  • Laser pens or similar focused lights
  • Light sticks
  • Musical instruments
  • Pets or animals, unless they are service animals
  • Skateboards or anything on wheels
  • Selfie sticks
  • Signs
  • Sports balls
  • Tents
  • Tripods
  • Umbrellas
  • Unlicensed vending of any kind
  • Water squirt guns

Bag Policy

Most bags are not allowed. Guests may bring small, clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches.

Non-clear cloth bags, purses, or fanny packs may be no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

Do not leave any items on the LCTA vehicle when departing for the concert as you will most likely not be returning on the same vehicle.

Any items left on LCTA vehicles will be discarded.
