Section 508 / Accessibility

In 1998, President Clinton signed the Workforce Investment Act into law. This Act amended Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to include accessibility requirements for electronic and information technology. Section 508 now requires that electronic and information technology used by Federal, State and Local Governments, including their web sites, be made as accessible for people with disabilities as it is for people without disabilities. The U.S. Access Board has outlined specific accessibility standards for implementing Section 508, especially as it applies to Web pages, at http://www.access-board.gov/508.htm

The Luzerne County Transportation Authority (“The Authority”, “Authority”) has always had a commitment to accessibility. We have taken time to ensure that www.lctabus.com complies with provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other accessibility concerns, whenever feasible.

Currently, The Authority is working to ensure that existing pages on www.lctabus.com are Section 508-compliant, and that future pages will be created specifically with these accessibility standards in mind.

Feel free to contact us for any reason, especially if you encounter barriers to accessibility on any of our Web pages. With your help, we can work together to ensure that www.lctabus.com remains as accessible as possible. Please send us your questions, comments, or recommendations regarding the accessibility of www.lctabus.com through the Contact Form.

More information about Section 508 can be found on: http://www.section508.gov.

No security is perfect, so if you feel uncomfortable providing your credit card or other Personally Identifiable Information over the Internet, do not do so. In order to purchase, you must use a browser that is SSL-enabled (e.g. Microsoft® Internet Explorer™, Mozilla® Firefox®, Apple® Safari™). A secured purchase is signified by the term “https://” in the browser. A lock will appear in the corner of the bar of the browser illustrating that a secured transaction is taking place. For customers who do not wish to give out credit card information over the Internet, The Authority has physical locations to purchase tickets at the Wilkes-Barre City Intermodal Center and The Authority’s Administrative Headquarters, 315 Northampton St., Kingston, PA 18704.
