What is Travel Training?

Travel Training aims to teach individuals how to use Luzerne County buses.  You will learn how to plan your trip, read the schedule, arrive at the correct bus stop, board the bus, pay your fare, and find your destination. Also, if needed, other modes of transportation can be discussed.  Travel training is available for both individuals and groups. We will not only discuss all the steps of using our fixed route buses but also go on the bus and take the trip with you.

Why is Travel Training important for you?

Once you know how to use the bus you will be able to increase your independence.

It may be more convenient than finding a parking spot and you don’t have to pay to park.

It provides a back-up plan in case you need to get somewhere and your car isn’t working or is being repaired, or if you just don’t want to drive.

Leaves driving to a professional driver when the weather is bad and you no longer need to worry about snow or black ice.

Reduces traffic congestion by having less cars on the road-which is a plus for everyone! Being able to get where you want provides greater access to the community and events. You’ll not only get to go to more places but you’ll meet new people!
