What is LCTA SMART PAY?
LCTA SMART PAY is an easy and fresh way to pay for your LCTA bus fares and validate on the bus. There are three ways you can buy and validate fares and passes:
1) Use your smartphone and the LCTA Smart Pay app, available for Android and Apple phones
2) Use a plastic refillable, reusable Smart Card
3) Use paper tickets printed to scan at the orange Smart Pay Reader on the bus
Choose what works for you! A nd because the payment system is account-based, you can mix & match the way you pay according to your preferences.
The LCTA Smart Pay mobile app can help you pay securely, and quickly, without the need for exact change, all while offering the same flexible LCTA fare options you’re used to. LCTA Smart Pay is an integrated solution that makes it easy to ride!
How to use LCTA SMART PAY?
Personalize your LCTA SMART PAY account!
Create an account in the LCTA SMART PAY system where all the fares, passes, and Smart Cards you’ve purchased can be stored in digital format.
You will reload your account with new fares and passes at any time, and via any method you prefer. Choose from: the LCTA SMART PAY mobile app, the LCTA SMART PAY web portal, or at the LCTA Transit Center or at our Kingston Administrative Offices.
Your account is accessible via email or social login, and doesn’t require the use of a password.
Please note: if you intend to use and connect a Smart Card, the mobile app and/or online reload features you need to use the same email address across the LCTA SMART PAY system. If using a social login, please ensure your social profile is linked to the same email address.
You can use your SMART PAY account to:
- Buy and Store Fares, Passes, and Smart Cards
- Reload with Fares and Passes for Future Trips
- View Purchase History
- View and Change Your Personal Data (Name, Favorite Places to Go!)
