In the event that roads become impassable or when conditions warrant, LCTA will implement the Severe Weather Routes below. These routes are designed to provide minimal service instead of closing completely in an effort to better serve our customers.
When LCTA begins running Severe Weather Routes, the following media outlets will be notified:
Route 1 – Miners Mills
Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. No service to North Washington Street.
Route 2 – Pittston Circulator
No service.
Route 3 – Grove, Brown, Heights
Wilkes-Barre Boulevard to Hazle Street to Blackman Street to Route 309. Continue to K Mart to Casey Avenue to Northampton Street to Regular Route.
Route 5 – Parsons
Outbound: Scott Street to Route 315 to Pittston Walmart. Inbound: Pitston Walmart to Route 315 to Scott Street. This bus will only go as far as the Pittston Walmart.
Route 6 – Dallas
Outbound: Wyoming Avenue to Union Street to Route 309 to Lake Street to East Center Hill Road. Inbound: Route 309 to Union Street to Wyoming Aveneue.
Route 7 – Georgetown
Outbound: Coal Street to Wilkes-Barre Township Walmart and Wegmans only. Inbound: Coal Street.
Route 8 – Swoyersville
Outbound: Pierce Street to Rutter Avenue to Wells Street to Slocum Street to Murray Street to Dennison Road. Continue to the Back Road to Bennett Streeet to Wyoming Avenue to Pierce Street. Inbound: Reverse on Edwardsville inbound trips.
Route 10 – Wyoming Valley Mall
Outbound: Kidder Street to Wyoming Valley Mall and VA Medical Center. Inbound: Wyoming Valley Mall and VA Medical Center to Kidder Street. This bus will not service Timber Ridge.
Route 11 – West Pittston
Wyoming Avenue to Pittston Loop. This bus will not service the Eighth Street or Exeter Avenue Loops.
Route 12 – Larksville
Outbound: Main Street Edwardsville to Church Street to Greenwave Boulevard to State Street to Nesbitt Street to West Broadway Street to Washington Street. Inbound: Route 11 to K Mart to Price Chopper to Market Street.
Route 13 – Ashley, Sugar Notch
Outbound: North Washington Street to Hazle Street to Main Street to Hanover Industrial Park. Inbound: Reverse from Outbound. This bus will not service the following loops: Stewart and Lasley and Askam or the DMV.
Route 14 – Nanticoke, Glen Lyon
Outbound: Carey Avenue to San Souci Parkway to Nanticoke to Weis Market. Inbound. Nanticoke Weis Market to San Souci Parkway to Carey Avenue. This bus will not service Nanticoke Public Square or Glen Lyon.
Route 15 – Nanticoke, Middle Road
This bus will not service the Hanover Section of Nanticoke.
Route 16 – Old Forge
Outbound to River Road to Pittston only. Inbound: Pittston to River Road. This bus will only go as far as Pittston. This bus will not service Old Forge, Duryea, or Hilldale.
Route 17 – Scranton
Outbound: Scott Street to Route 315 to pittston Walmart. Inbound: Pittston Walmart to Route 315 to Scott Street. This bus will only go as far as the Pittston Walmart.
Route 18 – Shoppers’ Delight
Outbound: Coal Street to Wilkes-Barre Township Walmart and Wegmans only. Inbound: Wilkes-Barre Township Walmart to Coal Street. This bus will only go as far as the Wilkes-Barre Township Walmart.
Route 19 – CenterPoint
Outbound: Scott Street to Route 315 to pittston Walmart. Inbound: Pittston Walmart to Route 315 to Scott Street. This bus will only go as far as the Pittston Walmart.
Route 22 – Plymouth, Old River Road
Outbound: Main Street Plymouth to Family Dollar. Inbound: Family Dollar to Main Street Plymouth. This bus will only go as far as the Family Dollar in Plymouth. This bus will not service Fellows Avenue, Lyndwood, Sullivan Place, or any loops.
Route 51 – Kingston, Pittston
No changes.
Route 52 – Mall, Casino, Center Point
No changes.
Route 53 – Westside, L.C.C.C.
No changes.
Route 54 – Ashley, Hanover Ind. Park, L.C.C.C.
