His positive attitude and strong work ethic have made a noticeable difference in LCTA’s work environment. “He jumps in when needed and is always willing to offer a helping hand,” shared the coworker who nominated him. RyShawn was especially instrumental in dismantling and removing shelving in the Parts Room that had been bolted into the ground. His colleagues truly value his reliability, upbeat demeanor, and constant willingness to help – recognizing him as someone who always brings a smile to the workplace and is, simply put, an all-around great guy.

Why Kevin was nominated: Kevin was nominated by Mark Gifford for his overall performance as a driver, which is “what we look for in a fixed route driver.” Kevin’s on-time performance is one of the highest in the department, and he has had perfect attendance for multiple quarters.

Additionally, Kevin always receives positive feedback when he trains new drivers.

Finally, Kevin represented LCTA at a special event in September where he went above and beyond explaining the bus and its functions.

Why Xiomara was nominated:

Xiomara, or Xio, was nominated because she consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of her as a Customer Service Representative. She demonstrates willingness to pitch in whenever needed – whether it is coming in early, working on a day off, or covering shifts in other departments.

Xio’s dedication, reliability, and positive attitude make her an invaluable asset to LCTA and a true example of teamwork.
Xio sets a strong example for her colleagues. She is always eager to learn every aspect of the job and to continue learning about public transportation.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? My hobbies outside of work are being outdoors and getting crafty with a nice glass of wine.

Favorite Sports Team: I don’t really watch sports, so no favorites. But I do enjoy watching handsome men run in uniform!

Fun fact about you: I am the only daughter but have four brothers.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?: If I could have any superpower, it would be to fly! I would love to see my family members that don’t live close by anytime I want.

Why Robert was nominated:

Robert “Bones” Gill was nominated by his colleague because of his compassionate demeanor toward everyone he meets – from fellow drivers to passengers.

Amy said she genuinely looked forward to coming to work because of Bob’s positive energy and sense of humor. Passengers often comment on how helpful and kind he is, and how much he goes the extra mile to make sure they are taken care of. He always helps those going through tough times.

Bob is the kind of person who inspires those around him, and colleagues recognize him because he brings heart and effort to the LCTA team every day.

Why Angel was nominated: Angel was nominated for his unwavering positivity and friendly demeanor. Whether he’s arriving for his shift or heading home for the day, he always takes a moment to greet others with a smile and a warm ‘hello.’ He frequently goes above and beyond, especially when assisting Spanish-speaking passengers, ensuring that they feel welcomed and understood.

New drivers consistently praise Angel for his guidance during training, and passengers have taken the time to call in and compliment his excellent driving skills.

Always reliable and eager to help, Angel has willingly stepped in to drive LCTA CONNECTS during staffing shortages. Angel exemplifies teamwork and a ‘can-do’ spirit in everything he does!

Stan has been an active and valuable member of the Drivers’ Committee, which meets regularly to address issues related to routes, runs, and overall service operations. He has been instrumental in identifying and quantifying problems and issues with routes and timepoints, providing thoughtful insights to improve LCTA’s service.

Stan goes above and beyond to assist passengers, taking the time to answer questions and offering helpful guidance. He consistently demonstrates a commitment to safety, punctuality, and exceptional customer service, while always maintaining a patient and friendly demeanor. Stan contributed significantly by helping staff the Customer Service table at the Transit Center in the week prior to the most recent route changes. Stan took time with each passenger to explain upcoming changes and provide the most updated information available.

Why Ted was nominated:
Ted was nominated for heroic actions while on the job. One day, as he was dropping off a client, he noticed someone lying unresponsive on the ground. Without hesitation, he contacted Dispatch to call 911 and remained with the individual, offering assistance until EMS arrived.
His supervisor, Debbie Dennis, praised Ted for consistently arriving at LCTA with a positive attitude, not only contributing to the smooth operation of daily tasks but also fostering a strong company culture.
