Enjoy the Spooktacular Treat of Free Rides
Just in time for Halloween, the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) is partnering with Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA) to offer the Spooktacular Treat: a week of free rides on all bus routes from Monday, Oct. 25, through Saturday, Oct. 30. ADA passengers will also ride at no cost during this week.
The joint “No Tricks, Just Treats” campaign is an effort to increase ridership at both agencies.
“If you haven’t used public transportation before, this is a great opportunity to try it,” said COLTS Interim Director Wayne Williams. “And, if you’re one of our regular passengers, it’s a way for us to say ‘thank you for riding’.”
LCTA Executive Director Bob Fiume said he is pleased the two agencies are continuing to collaborate.
COLTS and LCTA have worked together closely on aligning routes and transfers between the counties, standardizing the fare structure between the agencies, and accepting each other’s bus passes.
“It’s great to see the two agencies partner to offer free rides to our current and future passengers,” Mr. Fiume said.
